Join me in the desert to welcome the New Year under the starry night sky warmed by the fire and a heart-opening journey with Sacred Cacao.

Amazingly, three years have passed since my last public in-person Cacao Ceremony (though many online ceremonies and private in-person ceremonies!), and my heart has been longing to gather again in sacred circle where we sit upon the earth around a fire and drink a hot cup of Cacao together in the crisp desert winter air. 

The New Year is a perfect time to be in ceremony and receive the heart-opening medicine of Cacao to welcome a brand new cycle beginning. We will have the opportunity to connect with our heart’s vision for the coming year, and set meaningful intentions in sacred community.

In ceremony, we create an expansive field of healing energy that becomes healing energy for the world. These ceremonies are deeply powerful healing experiences held in a gentle, loving container of divine support.

LOCATION

We are gathering in the Sunken Garden at Joshua Tree Arts & Ecology Center, a perfect outdoor circular container for holding our ceremony. Constructed with earth materials, we will get cozy together in the embrace of the womb-like space heated with a wood-burning fire and a blanket of stars overhead.

This the first location I ever held a public Cacao Ceremony in Joshua Tree many years ago, and continues to be my favorite place to share ceremony in the desert. I am very grateful to Eva Soltes for making it possible for us to have the ceremony here on New Year’s Day. :)

HOW TO PREPARE

• It will be a delightfully cold night, so bundling up in warm layers is what’s most important. Warms socks, gloves and hat are good to bring with you.

• Bring blankets, a sit cushion, and anything you need for your physical comfort.

• Bring a journal, pen/pencil with you.

• Bring a thermos with some hot tea or water for hydration.

• Bring a special item to be charged on the altar (you’ll take it back with you after).

• Reflect on your intention for the ceremony.

• Come with an open heart ready to receive Divine Love.

• Bring a vegetarian potluck dish to share (optional).

• Afterwards, to best integrate your journey, avoid making plans for other social activities that night. You have the option to stay for a potluck as a wonderful next step post-ceremony. It’s always best to give yourself as much space as possible to be reflective of your experience and to stay open to receive more guidance and insight later.

Please join me in Cacao Ceremony for an in-person gathering outside on my sacred land in Joshua Tree at sunset in honor of Summer Solstice.

Summer Solstice is deeply meaningful to me, and I share my reverence for this day and the desert land I've lived on for over a decade that has served as a foundation for my own healing as well as countless others who have spent time with me here by offering this in person ceremony. This is an intimate invitation to connect on a deeper level with the sacred for your own healing and expansion.

* It’s likely this will be the last ceremony I’ll be offering for the next couple of months, so I hope you can make it if you’re called to join!

SUMMER SOLSTICE

Summer Solstice is a sacred seasonal passage and holy day that honors the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere (while the Southern Hemisphere honors Winter Solstice). On Summer Solstice, the radiance of the Sun shines brightest and strongest, when energy peaks and the celebration of the light expands our hearts open to receive the blessings of the cosmos for the coming season.

The desert is a place where the Sun reigns on a daily basis, and sitting in ceremony on desert land under the open sky will attune us to the radiant blessings of Solstice. The energy of the radiant Solstice Sun will magnify our heart’s desires and potential. WHAT TO EXPECT:

• I will be serving you Ceremonial Cacao to drink.

• We will be seated on the earth outside at sunset under the open sky until after dark. Ground mats and basic pillows will be provided.

• We will be embracing the elements. Come with anything you might want for your physical comfort (hat, layers, extra blankets and pillows, etc).

• We will be gathering on my land, a private sanctuary that is in a remote part of Joshua Tree that involves driving down dirt roads. Please arrive quietly and follow the directions I provide to ensure you do not get lost or stuck on bad sandy roads. GPS is not reliable.

• You will be in an intimate sacred circle, where you will be safe to surrender to your heart-opening journey held in a protected container.

• There will be an optional potluck for you to join afterwards. I encourage this, as it is an aspect of closure of the ceremony. Please bring a plant-based dish to share if you’d like to stay.

The relationship we have with our mothers is rich and complex. And anything that is out of balance in this core relationship is brought to the surface when reminders like Mother’s Day come around to highlight where healing is needed in our lives. 

I myself have had a lifelong struggle in my relationship with my mother, and found transformative healing within myself and with her through powerful practices I was introduced to several years ago. The triggers and challenges I experienced with her my entire life arose to be seen and healed, and I found myself in peace and appreciation for her, at last. 

I’ve been guided to extend these sacred practices as a way to honor Mother’s Day in a different kind of way: To focus on healing your relationship with your mother on a soul-level.

These practices are founded on the ancient knowledge of the Holy Womb Chakra teachings, where the healing of the soul-relationship with one’s mother is key to experiencing transformative healing. The practices are simple and accessible to anyone, yet extremely powerful.
