SEEING THE DIVINE

Photography was my first expression of meditation. In my barefoot solitary desert wanderings, I developed a deeply intimate relationship with the Land, the Sun, and the Moon. Using my camera as a divination tool, I discovered subtle and sacred connections and communications between the land, my body, and the Divine. All photographs here are self-portraits, sacred captures of divine alignment experienced in solitude. All divine moments created in single-shot exposures, no photoshopping, no posing, no planning. Only presence, only peace.

My time with the camera is a time of devotion, a meditation. The resulting photographs are my prayers.

My photography book Water in the Desert is available for purchase in my shop.

THE DAILY TRAIL

Beginning on my birthday, March 15th 2012, I began the simple solitary ritual of taking a self-portrait every single day. Represented here are a small selection of the hundreds of photographic meditations over the last two and a half years. This is a continuous, evolving practice without focus on outcome. The focus is the present moment, the creation, the walking, the land, the connection of feet to earth, of skin to wind. The focus is right now.

THIRTEEN MOONS LIMITED EDITION SERIES

The 13 Moon Calendar follows the natural rhythms of nature. The Moon orbits the Earth 13 times in one year, and has an average of 28 days in each Moon cycle. The start of the calendar year is July 26th. As a way to honor this cosmic measure of timekeeping, the Thirteen Moons series is a 28-day cyclical offering of a single new, limited edition print available as an edition of 13. By the completion of this year’s 13 Moon Calendar, there will be 13 prints in this series.
